Born near Geleen, Limburg, in 1964, I lived almost everywhere in the Netherlands but have lived in the beautiful town of Zutphen for 17 years now.

As a child, I was a member of a craft club and learned, among other things, anamelling, working with both clay and wood. Ceramics became a great passion and I made both handicrafts as turned ceramic pieces for several years. Later on I learned goldsmithing skills at the Breston Academy in Scheveningen. Then following my move to Zutphen, I started painted: I started using acrylic paint. Then I got interested in aquarel and oil paint. 

Partly self-taught, over the years, I have also attende various workshops and was thaught by Rosemarijn Daleman (Roseart), Mascha Kragten and Anne de Groot (DEGANN), Zaïr Tairov, Louise Wijdemans, Tatyana Yassievich, Bas van Nijenhuis en Peter Hartwig. I completed my education at the realistic fine painting academy, Art Partout. I also attended the summer academy of Wackers in Amsterdam and the Classic Academy in Groningen. 

An exhibition of my work was held in a beuatiful old flour mill 'Nooit Gedacht' Warnsvel, in 2018. I exhibited online together with other artists via 'Open Ateliers' in 2020.

Today I work with different materials like acryl, oil, aquarel, ink, pastel, charcoal and graphite. Walking through the woods every day with my dachshunds, I find my inspiration in nature. Equally I find portraints and photos' in newspapers and painting after model excellent sources of inspiration.
